Should I carry a gift for the host when attending a Christmas party? - carry on christmas

My family an invitation to a Christmas party. The couple lived on a religious festival to visit my husband. I do not know the couple. we take a dessert plate, you must bring a gift for the couple?

You can bring a small gift for the bride and groom or the house like a candle that smells good. While you are bringing a dish with a small gift to them that you're here, reminding care!

I think not. A dessert plate is sufficient, unless you are both very closely with the host, may wish otherwise sound you like you are trying to win their friendship. Initial response and then continue with something if you are no longer with them. However, a gift from holding the light unit in the car useful if you have there, each a gift. Then you can be sure not the cheapest.

A small gift would not hurt. Nothing fancy, it would be rare.
